Dartford MMA has now produced a dozen Blue Belts for the Marc Walder/Mauricio Gomes BJJ Team (Gracie Barra). Marc's standards are extremely high (it was no surprise to me that Marc's Students (and former Student) took all the Golds in the Brown Belt Division at the Kent Open), basing any promotion on Fighting ability as well as the students Technical knowledge. So it was great to see Meg and Dave (sorry Dave dont have a clip of your promotion)join the Blue Belt Ranks. Having rolled with both Students recently, i have to say your doing a good job guys! Be part of the Team! Dartford MMA Grading Weds 10th December!

New Blue Belts at Dartford MMA

Many congratulations to Meg and Dave who received their Blue Belts last night. Congrat's to all the other Students whom received stripes on their Blue and White belts (inc the three Juniors whom were promoted)! A superb Seminar as always from Marc. We worked the 1/2 Guard from the Bottom, focusing on the "Old Skool" Sweep, with some real attention to detail on the set up and varients from there. Pix to follow!

Brandon has Won Gold at the British WEKAF Full Contact Stick Fighting Championships!! Awesome display from Dartford MMA's Junior (14yrs) who took the u18 Crown at todays event in Luton!! Danny took Silver in the Mens Double Stick adding to his taly this year! Terry took Silver in the Ladies Double Stick event, proving once again what a tough Fighter she is and helping to put Dartford MMA Girls on the map! Its been an amazing 3 weeks of Competitons for the Dartford MMA Team! A special mention must go out to Academy Black Belt and Team Captain John who Coaches the Team as well as being a very tough Competitor! Dont forget Marc's BJJ Seminar on Weds!!!! Kent BJJ Open Results - Silver and Bronze for Academy Fighters!

Another great day for the fighters of Dartford MMA! Early start (09:00) for Gaz and Ryan competing in the 76kg Blue Belt division. Gaz narrowly lost his second match by a single advantage. After 3 fights , Ryan took the Bronze Medal with a dominant display of BJJ beating the current European Masters Blue Belt 76kg Champion. Sky, as last week fought hard. This time he fought in 2 matches before getting caught in a tight arm-bar. The most improved student in these last few weeks has to be Luke. At 17 he fought in the Mens division and it was awesome to witness his first win in competition - great job! Dave had a long day in a big group, fighting 3 times before lunch, including a dominant display in his third match before fighting again at 16:00! Dave narrowly lost on points in a battle for the Bronze Medal. Meg was last on the Mats at 16:45...words fail at how good her Ippon Seonagi was in her first fight...everyone took note!. It was a nice touch in the home of British Judo. Her second fight was a superb points victory over the Gold medalist at last weeks Scandinavian Open BJJ Tournament. She finally took Silver after narrowly losing on points against her Brazilian Opponent. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the Team! Next Weekend Team Captain John Vallas takes the Dartford MMA Full Contact Stick Fighting Team to Luton for the British Championships!
