Kazushi Sakuraba Vs. Ralek Gracie

Ralek takes a points win over legend Sakuraba in Dream 14 Japan today!

The ref stopped the action when Sakuraba had a Kimura attempt advantage, due to Ralek's shorts coming down, but Raleks escape and Armbar attempt sealed his Win!

UFC 113 - Dartford BJJ MMA in Kent

Another event filled UFC at the weekend! Josh Koschek was awesome in his strategy vs Paul Daley. Josh's Single Leg to Flare Double is amongst the best in the game (along with GSP). The Technigue is a high percentage move if drilled and taught correctly.

We teach it as part of our Core Eessential Series in the Submission Wrestling and MMA Classes at the Academy.

The other side of watching any MMA Event, is often the lack of Defensive skills on the Floor.

I'm a Fan of Kimbo, he is a great personality and can certainly bang, but having no options once Mounted, leaves him very vulnerable in an MMA Fight.

Escaping from the Mounted Posistion is the first thing taught in our Beginners BJJ Class, and whilst it depends on the skill set of the Person Mounted on you, a basic Hip Escape can save you from a painful reminder of why Defence must come First in any Curriculum.

Combat Submission Wrestling CSW & MMA at Dartford BJJ in Kent

MMA Fighter and "Celeb" Alex Reid visited Erik Paulson for a Combat Submission Wrestling Training session on Bravo TV this week as prep for his now postponed fight with Tom Watson.

We teach Combat Submission Wrestling as part of our Syllabus here at Dartford BJJ (We have 3 x CSW Coaches Training at The Academy all of whom Certified by Erik nearly 10 years ago!)
