I was recently asked by a Student "how to i get good at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?". There are the obvious answers; Find a Student Focused Teacher, Train hard/intelligently etc, but they were surprised at my reply. "Learn to Love Losing". If you are Ego driven, this Art can be for you sure, but in the main, the very nature of submitting on a daily basis (at the start) to a training partner will ensure your progress will be short lived if you cannot cope with this regular humbling experience.
At The Dartford Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy we Train Hard and for the dedicated, daily. What we always do is Train with smiles on our faces, including those moments we "lose"....because ultimately its all Win!
Enjoy the short Documentary featuring Royler Gracie. It provides a good background on what BJJ has to offer.
